Recruitment & Ethical Recruitment Policy
Responsible Recruitment. Respect for Seafarers.
PT NURINDO MAJU PERKASA is committed to conducting seafarer recruitment and placement in a professional, transparent and responsible manner.
Our recruitment practices are developed with reference to applicable principles and requirements of the Maritime Labour Convention, 2006 (MLC, 2006) and supported by our quality management system aligned with ISO 9001:2015.
Our Recruitment Principles
Fair Opportunity
Candidates are considered according to relevant qualifications, experience, competency, document readiness and the requirements of available positions.
Transparent Information
We aim to provide candidates with clear information regarding the recruitment process and relevant employment requirements available to us.
No Guarantee of Employment
Registration in the NURINDO crew database does not guarantee employment.
Selection depends on factors including vacancy availability, candidate qualifications, experience, document readiness, assessment results and principal requirements.
Document Integrity
Candidates are expected to provide genuine, accurate and valid information and documentation.
Fraudulent, altered or misleading documentation may result in disqualification from the recruitment process.
Confidentiality & Privacy
Candidate information is processed for legitimate recruitment and placement purposes and handled in accordance with applicable privacy and data-protection requirements.
Professional Communication
Candidates should receive recruitment information through authorized NURINDO communication channels.
Responsible Placement
Our objective is to match suitable candidates with assignments relevant to their qualifications, experience and applicable employment requirements.
Recruitment Fees & Payments
This section needs particularly careful wording. I recommend the website state:
Candidates should not make any payment to unauthorized individuals or third parties claiming to guarantee employment or placement with NURINDO.
Any legitimate cost or administrative requirement associated with a recruitment or deployment process, where applicable and permitted, should be clearly communicated through authorized NURINDO channels and supported by appropriate information or documentation.
This wording is safer than making a blanket statement that absolutely no costs can ever arise during the entire deployment process, because passports, medical examinations, visas or other legitimate arrangements can involve costs depending on the applicable arrangement. However, we must not imply that prohibited recruitment fees can be charged to seafarers.
Candidate Responsibilities
Candidates are expected to:
- Provide accurate personal and professional information.
- Submit genuine documents and certificates.
- Inform NURINDO of relevant changes to their availability or documentation.
- Participate honestly in recruitment and assessment.
- Review employment information before accepting an assignment.
- Use official communication channels when verifying recruitment information.
